The obligatory early breakaway were Fernandez, Roberts, Champion, Vinter and Tombak
Joly attacks with 73km to go
3km later and Boonen is off! Burghardt, Ballan and Baugnies counter
Nuyens and Flecha also attack as Boonen passes the early break (Joly still just ahead), already having got a gap on those who countered him
Boonen and Joly push on in the lead, with Flecha, Nuyens, Ballan and Baugnies chasing - Burghardt got caught behind that breakaway and was caught by the pack.
With 63km to go theres a crash, Verbist is down and then Veelers follows.
Verbist recovers and after a long chase he will eventually catch up. Once Veelers got up he found himself with Geraint Thomas - the Brit is some way back already and as far as I can tell it is down to bad positioning - but rather than catch up, Veelers went in the other direction apparantely carrying some form of injury.
Back up front, the 4 chasers are soon to be caught by the bunch but all attack away once again
While Boonen has dropped Joly and moves into a solo lead
More attacks from the pack - Pozzato, Nolf, Gusev, Cancellara and Burghardt
But apart from Flecha who attacked away and joined Joly, the rest are all brought back
Langeveld now attacks, having not gone before
He catches Joly and Flecha, with Flecha having only sat on Joly's wheel. Langeveld needs to pass them by to stand a chance, but does not
More attacks! Burghardt, Ballan, Baugnies, Cancellara and Gusev
They then attack each other as more riders try to come across - Nuyens, Pozzato, Steegmans, Nolf, Maes, Van Impe
Boonen is still leading of course, and despite the aggressive nature of riding behind his lead is 2 and a half minutes
Burghardt has got free and is now riding in 2nd place
50 seconds behind Burghardt is Baugnies, Cancellara, Pozzato, Ballan, Gusev and Flecha
A further 45 seconds later are Nuyens, Steegmans, Joly, Nolf, Langeveld and Maes
Nuyens is leading attacks from the 2nd group of 6 to the first as Baugnies attacks going on to the Muur
Boonen is already summiting the climb though!
Nuyens jumps past the group to join Baugnies as Steegmans and Nolf also come across
Burghardt is 2nd over the Muur and as Baugnies and Nuyens head over it seems that all 12 riders have joined together
Boonen is now uncatchable in first with Burghardt in a similarily comfortable 2nd
Baugnies and Nuyens attacked again going over the top of the Muur and have a gap once again
The group has split behind as well as Ballan fights to recover
He catches Flecha, Cancellara, Pozzato, Gusev and Nolf - leaving Steegmans, Langeveld, Maes and Joly
Nolf and Flecha now attack the group
As up front Tom Boonen celebrates victory! Once he attacked, he was never seen again
2nd for Burghardt
Baugnies outsprints Nuyens to take 3rd
Flecha takes 5th, just ahead of Nolf
Pozzato takes 7th before Ballan, Gusev and Cancellara
Steegmans took 11th, ahead of Maes, Langeveld and Joly - with Verbist having not only recovered from his crash but attacked to take 15th, with Van Impe there in 16th
5 riders managed to break off from the large group in the closing stages to battle for the final Top 20 spots, and Ten Dam leads in Geslin, De Haes, Kruijswijk and Boom
After those 5 and 28 others came a dissapointing Geraint Thomas, who needs to work on his positioning skills
And half an hour after Boonen came a group with Veelers in - a race to forget for him
