IKEA Bianchi and 100% Me were controlling things behind though

With 60km to go, those 2 teams had split the pack, with Backstedt, Fenn, and Stybar leading the way

It lasted 15km, they caught the break, but were swamped on a hill with 45km to go

Steurs is leading solo up front, he has attacked away successfully from Vanspeybrouck

The IKEA rider is at 45 seconds, Mertens at 1 minute, with Blythe, Sieberg, Portal, Eisel, Albert and Sentjens at 1'25.

This group is then joined by the Nokia-Nike pair of Freire and Bakari

Albert launches himself away on the descent of that hill, and will quickly pass Mertens

Mertens is then caught by the chase group as Blythe and Eisel also try to go on the flat, the group briefly comes back before Blythe tries again on his own and makes it away with ease

Ahead of him, Albert is closing in on Vanspeybrouck
