An early break went clear: Mardones, Mazzanti, Jiriakov, Boldbaatar and Pomer
They are caught and theres an interesting situation with 66km to go with Hoste and a couple teammates holding a gap on the bunch
Stybar and Jack Wolfskin chase as Hoste has teammate Taillefour for company
The young Frenchman drops back as Hoste presses on alone and extends his gap
The group behind stretches and reduces to 19 but still Hoste pulls away to over 2 minutes
With 34km to go there is at last a response to Hoste - Albert, Eisel and Franzoi attack
Franzoi is quicker than Albert and Eisel - could we be seeing an Nvidia 1-2?
5km later and Vanspeybrouck attacks. He had tried to go with the other 3 but failed, this time he goes clear though along with Gilbert, Blythe and Sentjens
20km to go, Hoste leads
Franzoi is 1'20 behind, with Eisel and Albert 45 seconds after him
Vanspeybrouck, Blythe and Sentjens are 40 seconds later, 30 seconds ahead of Gilbert
A further 30 seconds behind Gilbert are a group of 9 - De Maar, Van Avermaet, Van Summeren, Freire, Backstedt, Giaux, Giling, Stybar and Traksel
Albert and Eisel now simultaneously attack
They catch Franzoi, while Vanspeybrouck has left behind Blythe with Sentjens just sitting on
Infact Albert has now left behind Eisel and Franzoi - while Sentjens has attacked behind to drop Blythe
But Hoste still leads, seemingly unreachable
Franzoi now attacks away from Eisel in a bid to catch Albert
Victory for Leif Hoste!
2nd for Albert as Eisel rejoined and sprinted past Franzoi for 3rd
5th for Vanspreybrouck as Sentjens is 6th and Blythe 7th - Blythe could easily have sprinted past Sentjens if cya-logic had allowed him
8th for Gilbert with Giaux and Freire sprinting to the final positions in the Top 10
