Duret and Frischkorn were the early initiators of the break
Schroder and Arvesen joined them with Te Brake in pursuit having lost ground in the early hills
After a long pursuit, Te Brake is able to catch up though
But once on to the toughest climb of the day 20km later, he is shelled out the back again and wont return
With a leaders jersey up for grabs, BMC are leading the chase behind and the pack are being stretched
The break gave it everything, only to be caught with 14km to go
The pace remains high and we notice that with 5km to go there are 29 riders off the back and as well as some riders who are further behind, it means that there are no NVidia, Ernst&Young, Ultimate or AON Global riders left in the peleton.
Up front it is Team NOS with a slight advantage
And Markov is the first to go for it, 1.5km out
