A .rar file is just a compressed file type like .zip. There are literally hundreds if free compression tools out there, I use winace, that will let you open and save .rar files. Google .rar tools and find one you like, then you can open the databases and such which most of the time have instructions on what to do, like where to save the files for the DB, inside the .rar. Hope I helped...

When files are "RAR" it means they've been compressed so they're not as big as the "original" file is. To unpack them you'll have to download an extractor, f. e. WinRAR which can be downloaded at https://www.rarlabs.com. Now you can extract the original file.
Where it has to be extracted depends on which DB you've downloaded. Some databases already has the directory structure and therefore has to be extracted to the main directory of PCM. Some only include the database and no structe and has to be placed in the Database-folder, etc., etc. - so if you tell me what DB you've downloaded I'll guide you through. |

Okay, for the PCM Spain-pack you'll just need to extract it to Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager/ |

I use ExtractNow which is a very small program, but very simple and useful - and freeware. |

I use WinZip andWinRar for the corresponding files, I used to find cracks for them, but now I just clickon "use evaluation version", it works fine too, although it takes a little longer.
WinZIP 11.0 is out for a couple of weeks now, btw, and WinRAR 3.62 for a couple of days. |
