Hi!
If I change a riders potantial (value_i_potentiel) will that have any effect of the future potential of a rider unless I also edit some of the limit_i_*** stats? And also on the contrary, what effect will changing limit_i_*** have if I don't change the value_i_potentiel?

I don't really know for sure, but my guess is that potential determines the rate of improvement, and is also used to calculate value. The latter was certainly the case in earlier versions of PCM, where you could see the changed value of a rider as a result of editing potential.

So, I'm thinking that you need to look at both to really determine how a rider will turn out. Ideally you'd want a rider to gradually improve to his maximum levels over his 20s, plateau for his late 20s to early 30s, and then start to decline . . .

Anyone care to confirm, comment, or correct my speculations?

I am not very good in modifying the riders but I guess it is like that:
In the DB you only have to set the potential, the limits will be calculated at the start of the career.
In the save you only have to update the limit (a rider cannot get higher then the limit of course)

The speed of evolution is not related to the potential (at least not in the career, the column is called gene_i_year_progression or so, see this thread https://www.pcmdai...d_id=9534)

I think potential is used to determine a rider's limits. So a rider with a high potential will get high limits. Not sure though

I changed the potential of an existing rider. but ingame it wont change. the scout's still declaring the same potential. anyone knows why?
