I played only a half-time with FIFA 08, I couldn't have played more with that annoying piece of shit. Worse than the previous ones IMO.

Tell me whether or not the one-player mode is good (the one where you only control one player). |

well i have played it and it isn't shit as A_V says, it is however pretty much the same as the year before, except now it is slightly harder and you can scoop the ball over people's heads
@Crue, the "Be a Pro Mode" is ok, but as with the "Siperstar Mode" in Madden a couple of years ago, it needs some fine tuning, and there was a bug where Arsenal had a goal-kick and all my players were stood in a line behind their goal
luckily Kasper Schmeichal made an incredible saveB)
but yes some fine tuning is needed, also it's very frustrating when you only control one person as (I was Elano) and the defense were awful i did my bit by getting Elano to score, but we lost 2-1 through awful defending
overall the one-player mode needs a lot of work, and also some of the commentary in Manager Mode is...well completley wrong, the ball goes about 15feet wide and the commentator says "GREAT SAVE BY THE KEEPER"
in spite of them i still enjoy it though, as it is harder this year, but it's pretty much the same as last year
also, just incase you didn't know Crue, the "Be a Pro Mode" is for up to 3 people so you could have a couple of mates around a have 1 player each, which would swing away from passing it to your guy every 10 seconds

I got the game and i think is pretty good. Fifa is really closing the gap to PES
But i prefer PES

Thats a shame the 'be a pro' section isn't sounding too good - that would be the major selling point to me, because the gameplay alone won't keep me entertained for long (and I'm not trying to fifa bash here, its a personal experience).
Does anyone remember ISS 2000 for the N64? Thats how to do a proper 'be a player' mode, it would be incredible if someone took that and updated it! |

if it's in next years version i have no doubt that it will be a great feature, but as it is in it's first attempt, it's bound to need improving

The thing is though, they never keep features and improve on them. It'll be dumped and they'll have a new feature like keepie ups or a futsal competition... |

Did people forget that there actually was somekind of "be a pro"-mode in PES last year? And the year before that? You could unlock a "Player Camera"-sort of thing, making it possible only to control one player. |

Yeah but its not the full on gameplay experience I want in a 'be a pro' environment. ISS 2000 let you make decisions that shaped your character - like doing extra training or grabbing a pizza, choosing which team mates (clean cut or the chancers) to hang around with, juggling time between a girlfriend, training and your own health - It was done very well. Bring it back I say! |
