Ok. Let's begin with the strikes against me 1) I'm American (and you know how little exposure we get to cycling lol) 2) Haven't followed cycling since Lance's wins 6 and 7 (Moved and this year I couldn't even get highlights where I am at sucked) 3) New to the whole multi race managment scenerio ( ok...ok I admit it...I'm an american pig that only tuned in to Tour de France. because Lance was in it ... I'm getting better though actually belong to a site where I can stay caught up on all races.... Plus hoping to go watch the Tour of Missouri in r/l this year) 4) New to PCM
Ok with that said.... I'm open to tips and advice on how to be a good team manager in pcm 09. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually ...believe it or not...no not Astana. The one or two times I played 08 I played as Slepstorm (3 times I think due to a lousy computer that went belly up.) ...but since getting 09 and my new PC I've toyed around with Custom mode. Right now running 70 on rec with Lance, Leiphiemer, Ballon, Pinea, Meyer and a bunch of rookies.... Planning on restarting if my fantasy jersey gets done and writing a story as I go along so everyone can laugh at the rookie lol.

Well....and this is just my opinion....and I'm sure I'll get reemed for it lol....
I think Contador has lots of talent... He probably as many think and say the next prodigy when it comes to the tour...meaning he'll win a lot of tours... However.... I also think he is young, headstrong and needs better people skills... True he and Lance didn't get a long...true they were butting heads.... but he could have possably learned something from Lance had it not been a battle of ego's. By BOTH sides. Lance finished 3rd after 3.5 years off and only 6 months back on a bike....No small feet in itself. And After stating he would not challenge his teammate. Instead of Alberto making the comment of should be no question of who is leader...he should have instead shown some graciousness towards his teams support. I guarentee you.... after that comment I am sure that Lance spent that whole time studying him.
It is sad that two people of their ability couldn't learn from each other...and instead had to butt heads. It is a classic old horse/new horse story. It will be a story that overshadows the race next year I am sure.... I just feel Alberto could have gained from Lance and vice versa.
and before you ask it...yeah I think Lance will do better then him next year....not because of ability...but because of heart. Lance is the sort of person that when he puts his mind to something...he does it.....and it is my feeling that he wants to give Contador a slice of humble pie...
But on the flip side...I think if anyone could beat Lance's record once he retires....Contador is the man that could do it.

Contador may be a super talent, but he wont make many friends. His tactics this year prove he only cares about himself. I hope he gets found out doping to be honest. |

He won't make many friends?
LL Sanchez?
Sergio Paulinho?
How many guys do I have to name who are friends with Contador, both on and off Astana, to realize how stupid that is?
Also, if your talking about his attack where Kloden got dropped, we don't really know what happened. Both Contador and Kloden said that Kloden had okay'd it. Possibly Kloden was already about to drop off and told Contador to go to try and get rid of the Schlecks and not be isolated. We don't know why he attacked, but Contador sure as hell isn't as selfish as another multiple Tour winner I could name...

The aim is to win the race which he did comfortably. Theres no doubting it. Lance couldnt have beaten him if he tried. I just dont like Alberto's attitude towards Lance. Yes they both ignited a war of words but Alberto could have stamped himself as a gracious winner. IMO he is more arrogant than Lance has been in the past, and for that reason i will continue to dislike him. Lance for 2010! And if he cant win it Evans! Just not a Spaniard please.... |

I liked Contador before this years TdF and was excited to see what happened between them. Instead I got the most boring Tour viewing ever. Typical Johan Bruyneel handing out freebies (not dissing on Bruyneel, I personally think hes the best). After this tour i don't like Contador at all, him and all that gun shot bullshit. He's young and everything is in his head. Maybe when he's older he'll snap out of it. I really think that with a strong team, Lance will give him hell next year but, then again I also think that both Lance and Contador will get slapped by Andy Schleck. He could've been closer to Contador if he had payed more attention (Arcalis and Verbier). just my 2 cents
