Moving save games between PC's
GreenxGreg
This may be a newb question, but I need to know how to move save game files between PC's...

What i've done is copy 3 files, a .cdi, a .cdb, and a .cdb~

And I've inserted them under databases/multi/official release as this is a LAN game

I'm under the impression I need all 3 files...??

I see the game under the "load game" section of "LAN" games, and it allows me to load it up, but as soon as it does the game crashes.

The basic goal here is to be the PC that hosts/saves the house LAN game. I'm on a quality PC, and the other PC we play on is a bit older, and has a nasty habit of crashing. We want to switch the Host/Save PC because mine never crashes so my partner can simply re-log in to the game should he crash mid-stage.

Thanks!!!!

~~~~ I forgot to mention that I'm playing the 2008 version. I realize now that I've posted this in the wrong section. Sorry about this.
No prob. Did you install a special DB? I mean is the save based on an inofficial DB?
If yes, then you need to install the DB on your computer before you can use the save. The save is only the .cdb file the others are a backup and some other stuff.
no it's the official database... what I ended up doing was copying the entire "multi" folder from the other PC to mine and erasing my own original "multi" folder. The LAN game works fine now, I just lost my other LAN games (which was not important as they were with the same person, lol)...
So although I got this specific instance working again, I still don't know how to properly transfer just one save (for future reference). Like I said, it's the original database.
btw Lachi, you're the one who sent me over here from PCM's official forums right? Thank you so much! I'm enjoying reading the various articles/posts and figuring everything out that this site has to offer Banana
Usually, doing what you did sounds right.
You simply copy the .cdb file from Documents/PCM/Database/Multiplayer/OfficialRelease to the similar folder on the other computer.
I've no idea why this wouldn't work, but in general, LAN can be unstable.
