Some surprising outcomes, Panathinaikos losing 3-1 in Prague. Shaktar drawing at home versus Timisoara, Zurich losing against the Slovenian champ Maribor at home and Celtic beaten by Dinamo Moskva. And at last, Twente drawing in Lisbon versus Sporting who played really poor.
And the fail of the night was from Moutinho
As you can see Mihaylov isn't standing in the centre of the goal, but a bit to the left. Apparently he and the first goalkeeper Boschker watched videos of Moutinho taking penalties and found out that he shoots it towards the left side. By not standing in the middle he persuades him to shoot hit towards the left side where he is leaving some open space and Moutinho shoots it to the left side and Mikhailov saves the day. Now lets hope they can finish it in Enschede.

I saw Zurich vs. Maribor on Swiss Television. In the end, Zurich should have won; but their goalie (Guatelli) was ridicoulus. So was the defense of both teams. I think that Zurich will go past this round; I don't think that the will play so badly twice. |

Stabæk actually played very well against FC København. Unlucky, they wasn't good enough infront of København's goal so København won 3-1. But in goal chances it was actually 6-6 or 8-7 for Stabæk (depends on which statistic you believe in).
Well done by København though, they took the win and most likely a spot in the main competition. |

Celtic Dinamo was not surprising, Dinamo are halfway through their season, Celtics hasn't even started. The return leg is also before Celtic start their season. I'm sure that this will happen in other ties also. Its time this got sorted out. Unfair, with a lot of money resting on it. |

It's hardly unfair that teams play in the time of year where it is possible to play soccer... In russia the winters are far worse than britain, so they have to play much more intense through the periods in which they actually are able to play, same goes for Ukraine... |

I wonder why you, non-portuguese people, name the club as Sporting Lisbon or whatever.
When Sporting's keeper touches the ball with his shoulder and a Twente defender puts the ball in his own goal, it's obvious that Sporting had luck. Adding the fact that Sporting played badly in the entire game and did nothing to win/tie the game, the luck was too much.

I'll just re-state what I said around the 90th minute of the game: whichever team gets through to the next qualifying round (in this case Sporting), will get hammered very badly.
None of these teams are anywhere near good enough for the Champions' League.
