Is water really needed?
rcd
Well. I played two stages in a row. One with water as i usualy do, and one where i just didn't get any. There was no diffrence at all. So here is my question. Is water really needed?

What level did you play on? Easy, normal, hard or extreme?

I guess the effect could vary depending on those.

I noticed in past years that your green bar dropped quicker when you didn't have any water. How long was the stage?

Mildly related: Has the blinknig bottles been removed for this years game? In 08 the area containing the bottles would start to blink when the rider was out of water and thirsty (first blue, then red). I can't remember seeing this in 09 yet.

Yes, Rontgen, there is a warning. Not a blinking bottle, but the bottle turns into a blue distinctive colour to warn you. About the influence of water in performances, according to several persons if you don't have any water your yellow bar descends quickier. Perhaps not noticeable if your rider is in a good condition and the stage isn't pretty demanding, but anyways. I can't give my personal opinion about it, because I've only left a couple of riders without water by mistake, but they were riders on the autobus, so it would be hard to notice the performance change if they are already rolling at like 10 km/h.

Guess You didn't wait long enough to find out. If they get thirsty their status bar (not bottles) starts to blink blue. When it blinks red their performance is reduced (somehow).

EDIT - someone was quicker Wink

Yes, but your answer was more accurate Smile. For example, I didn't know that red blinking thing (of course, it is a good thing I haven't had to learn it the wrong way).

I've noticed there are more accident in stages with rain, but that could be something coincidental

Actually, that is true. But he was asking about water to drink, not about the rain.

My bad then, I thought the first post was asking if there were any differences in stages with rain or without it.
