Vaughters' view Pre-Tour
Jonathan Vaughters The big show: On what will probably be a scorching hot day, this will decide it all.
Ventoux is often ascended, but rarely this late in the race. It will add a whole new dynamic of fatigue.
If Contador has the jersey here, its hard to see him losing it, but on a hot day, late in the race, you can never tell.
For the stage win, I’d look for a rider who is a bit out of touch on GC and is given a bit of rope early on the climb - the same way Valverde won in the Dauphine.
Who’s that rider? Well, I guess I hope Christian Vande Velde is back to top form by then, and pulls off the win of his life. That wish aside, Contador seems like a likely candidate, along with another guy I haven’t spoken much of, but will be there for sure, Andy Schleck.
My view - 95% chance Contador rides away from the rest. 5% chance he bonks and all hell breaks lose.

I am hoping for wiggo or frank on the podium. I think f.schleck might just do it considering how well he has been climbing. Hopefully wiggo can prove me wrong as i don't think he will quite have the legs.
Prove me wrong wiggo like you have the whole tour.
Come On Bradley
When journalists at the Tour de France ask me if I am the best sprinter, I answer 'Yes', and that's seen as arrogance, but if they don't ask me, I don't say I'm the best sprinter in the world.

Contador said he will ride defensively, and will try to help his teammates to get on the podium in Paris...but if Lance and Kloden cant follow, then he might go for a win...
F.Schleck will attack for sure, he is able to make 40s on Lance...
maybe Sastre will launch an early attack, but I am not sure of him, he isnt in shape for a win...
my pick:
1.F.Schleck
2.Contador
3.A.Schleck |

I think we will see three riders come home: Schlecks and Contador in a sprint that Contador will win.
Then Armstrong and Wiggins in a group that follows a minute behind which again is chased by Klöden, Nibali and someone ive yet to determine.
This was Waghlon's Crystal Ball, thanks for watching!

Can Frank really win it over a hard nut like Armstrong that will be following him like donkey to a carrot?

If that result happens today then I will crawl under a rock and cry until the Classica San Sebastian. |

Oh Boy - the wind on top of Ventoux is gale force and the big trucks have had to go back down. 500000 expected to stand on the slopes.

And this is how Le Tour will end: Contador will be hit a lot of wind and go airborne at the top of Ventoux. He will reach around 10,000 feet (3 kilometers) before crashing face first into Switzerland. Andy Schleck then wins.

This should liven things up a notch...they better not shorten the stage now!

Finally, a good suggestion. |

With the wind blows being up to 110 km/h there may not be any TV signal from the top
