Hi.
I am playing with the PCMclub DB, and i had just started on the first stage of the Giro - 2009 when the game just froze.
I closed the PCM process and tried to start the game again.
I get to the point where I can choose to start the game, or go to the editor etc, but when I click "play", nothing happends.. In the running processes, I can see PCM so it seems like its running, but it doesnt turn up on my screen at all.
I tried to reinstall the game, but I still have the same problem.
Does anyone know why this happends? And what I can do to be able to play again?
Any help is highly appreciated.
They have this great beer here in England, I really love it. Its called Pint.

Sounds like a broken save game.
Try deleting (back it up first) your PCM-folder in My Documents to see if it works. |

I only took backup of my savegames, and deleted the rest;(.
but anyway, it made the game function again. Is it possible for me to continue on the same savegame now? Or will it make the game crash again?

You need to delete the ~ from the file names. |

Resurrecting an old thread, one of many about this issue. Suddenly I am having a very similar problem.
What's been happening:
-'White screen' crashes mid-stage
-Occasional 'black screen' crashes
-Now crashes at start-up.
Things I've done, multiple times now:
-Wiped all traces of PCM for a fresh install.
-Patched 1.0.3.3
-Installed pcmdaily's pack
-Attempt to play game with limited success
-Tried deleting PCM from My Docs; this solution does not work for me and ends up making it worse. Now the game will simply crash at start-up. There is no savegame because it's a fresh install. I do not understand why this has worked for others.
-Cleared AppData, etc., etc. All of the logical steps. All of the previous suggestions.
-Disabled visual themes. I'm not even on Vista, but this doesn't work either.
-Another wipe and fresh install, rinse, repeat.
I'm burning through activations like matches here, and have already had to email Cyanide once for more activations. I'm at wit's end. Any other thoughts or suggestions? I'll try anything that's not self-incriminating.

The files in My Docs will not be deleted if you uninstall the game, so this is wrong: "There is no savegame because it's a fresh install."
Please check your savegames as these most probably are the problem. |

Yes, I know, I am fully aware of that. Did you miss where I said that I have manually deleted these files as well? There is no savegame because, again, it's a fresh install; only the db that is included in the PCMdaily pack.
And yes, before you ask, I've tried running the game both before patching and before installing the pack, both to no avail.
[EDIT]: Another install. This time, no db is shown in the OfficialRelease folder. This is ridiculous.
I concede that there may still be something I'm overlooking, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is.

Re-downloaded every single file and all original game files just for good measure. Following all standard procedures, now crash-free on startup but still crashing periodically in-game. Must have had a corrupt download or something, but this is about as good as it was before acting up, and right now, I'll take what I can get.
Anyway, thanks for the effort. |

Have you searched your computer for folders called CYCLING. The game does create 3 folders as far as I know. The main folder in Programs, one in My Documents and then another one.
I would uninstall, then delete all these folders, then clean the registry (if I didn't reset the system using a image). |

I did clean registry stuff each time, but doing a system search for folders was not something I had thought to do. I'll keep this in mind, should I run into any more crash-related issues and wish to do another reinstall. Better safe than sorry. |
