This is out of hope rather than expectation. I did something stupid last night. Going in to the last stage of a tour i was almost a min up & for some stupid reason i decided there is no way i'll lose it so i'll simulate. As i pressed the button i realised my error & sure enough my rider finished 11mins back. Is there any way of loading a game from the previosly saved position (only did a couple of stages last night) or do i just have to continue & put it down to experience!!!

Oh, how classic.

Unfortunately, there's not much to do. Theoratically, it's possible, but it's difficult. You can find some inspiration in this thread:

Also on a side note, When selecting Riders for each tour is it best to stick with the automatically selected riders i.e. is it based on their training plan to ensure they reach their max fitness for their goals?

My tool is only to replace the automatic selection, so my answer would be: The automatic selection is crap.
