Screen freezes

Hey.
Sometimes when I'm playing PCM09 the screen just freezes, and all these green pixels appear. It only happens during stages, never in the menus or with any other games I run on my PC. The only way to exit is to shut down the computer and restart it, of course with all progression lost. My computer is only 6 months old, with NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT, 4GB RAM, and Intel Quad Core Q9400 processor.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
What would you advice me to do? I don't want to turn the graphics down too much, as I think it's important to the gaming experience.
