No Narrative on buttons or anything else for that matter

Before I start I have re-installed several times 
When I get to the start up screen no text is displayed on any of the buttons! Its the same in game and makes the game impossible to play! |

what db do you use?

Yep I've installed the patch and using the standard db (well the official one). I initially had to re-install after the game wouldn't start using an amended db, deleted everything started from scracth, re-installed about 5 times and still no text! |

In fact there is no text displayed at all which makes the game completely unplayable. No worries mate hopefully someone else will have an idea  |
