Victory in the season opener in Tachira was dominant enough for Florentino Marquez that he remains the leader of the Continental Tour - but scores in Australia and New Zealand have brought Van Heerden to a close 2nd. Tour Down Under was the 1st HC race of the season, its winner Sulzberger is 3rd while 7 of the Top 14 scored points there - HC races are afterall the most beneficial in terms of rankings.

Olympus AirAsia have been active in every race so far - and after Langkawi they will have completed 1/4 of all their races this season. A large haul in Jelajah Malaysia has helped their haul but they have perhaps not been as effective enough if they wish to remain at the top all season. SL Benfica are looking good so far in 2nd after Tachira while IrnBru are revelling from victory in 2 of the 6 races to be an early 3rd. Of the 23 teams who have sent in their planners so far, 22 have scored. Why not 23? Well, Wiggle did not participate in any of the January races.
