Profile/Icon mismatch: Which applies?

As in, on a stage that is pancake-flat, but shows mountainous on the tiny icon, am I better off selecting my flat-stage configuration or my mountain-stage configuration? (note: I simulate all of my stages)

Equipment doesn't really make a significant difference to your riders abilities, but I would probably go for mountainous, as I think the equipment is checked by the satge profile icon, and not the actual profile Wink
