Getting in Breakaways?

Every time I get in a breakaway early in the stage, they chase as hard as they can to catch me, and after catching me they then let a breakaway get 3 or 4 minutes. It doesnt matter which rider either it could be the worst placed one I have and I still cant get in a breakaway. Also when I am in a breakaway for a short period of time the other riders will not help relay? Any Advice?

Then use several rider, one to go with the firts breakaway an another to go with the next.

Although i usually get away much easier. What difficulty are you playing at.

I wpuldnt know because i have always played on hard but the peleton might chase the first break down more often on easy.

Ok haven't spent that much time on road on 09, too much track racing. But if it's like previous games the 1st break is always pulled back if you have a rider in it, if you don't there's a higher chance it will stay away. So the answer is this when the 1st break goes away send a rider in it just so when it gets caught you can then send the guy you want in the break to go with the 2nd break.
