Second rest day this time in Switzerland, here you can discuss any press conferences taking place. Any news that comes out can go here too, also any race predictions and race reflections from the week that was.

Is 16 tough enough to have an impact on the GC?
Percentages don't seem as high as the other days, and there's a long downhill.
I'm wondering if all the GC guys rest a bit tommorrow, then the non-TT guys (Sastre, Schlecks) take the initiative on 17.
Pellizoti in a break on 16 maybe? |

imo if you're going to have a TTT, do what the giro did. Short one as a stage 1.
Better yet, take it out.

stage 16 there is a long long descent, but the final climb is long enough for attacks...also stage 17 the two final climbs are really hard, we will see definitely some action there..
I would like to say also 2 other things:
1.there is still a TT, but is not as long as it used to be in Armstrong-era (more than 50km) and also 2nd TT in TOUR is always specific, because riders have allready some 3000 km in their legs, so its not only coming down to TT-ability but also how much power have the riders left, so weaker time-trialist will not loose so much time (exactly like Sastre last year where he lost only about 30s to Evans)
2.there is still Mt.Ventoux after TT!!! and definitely there you can loose more time than you can gain in Annency in TT

To bad Sammy Sanchez isn't participating. The decent of the petit Saint-bernard was perfect for him

The question is if Evans and whoever's behind with as much as him can afford not to attack at all given possibilities from now on. Of course, it wouldn't be sensible to attack on every possible mountain, but hopefully, we'll see some action on the next stage. |

Wiggins is probably sure one. And then the 3rd place is between A.Schleck/Sastre/Nibali...etc |

I dont know wether Verbier is interesting material, since the climb is only 8.6 kilometers long and therefore too explosive to be compared with real long climbs.
The wattages will be extremely high |

Precisely. It's a 20 minute climb. Nothing can be inferred from the wattages. |

I'm expecting them to come during the final week or a few weeks after the Tour. Funny how the doping breakout stories have disappeared at the same time Lance returns to the race, eh? |
