hi everybody,
i've been trying to create a team with custom cyclists as i did in last years. So after reading a lot of stuff here and in other places i found out a method of editing it the way i wanted.
It is not new. It's here on the foruns. I just organized and included some things.
1 - download the advanced editor v4 that is here on the 2008 version downloads and extract it anywhere
2 - create the team and cyclists with the game editor cause it's easiest than editing ids and other stuff in other editors. Save a new db and close this editor.
3 - open the game. go to options and select the new db created. create a career. dont forget to note the "name of saved file" when doing it. quit the game
4 - a lot of people believe that it's not possible to edit saved games but they are databases just like the others.
The difference in editing it after saved is the option to edit cyclists contracts as some other stuff not included in pre game databases.
This new gamesave db was created in My documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2009\Database\Solo\name of db used to create the new career.
If u are in the right folder you will see the file that was in "name of saved file" (step 3) when creating career.
There will be more files. Copy only this one and paste in the database folder of advanced editor
5 - open avd editor (PCM2008_CDB_to_XML.exe). In "database in" select the new db u just copied. In "folder out" put any name and click import. It will create a folder with all the extracted tables.
when it's done, bellow in "folder in" select this created folder. In "tables" the most important are dyn_cyclist where performance stats can be edited up to 99 and dyn_contract_cyclist where u can edit the end of the contract and salary.
Don't forget to always hit save before changing tables.
6 - after finished, in "database out" put any name and hit "export ****" this will create a new db with all the information changed. Get this db, and put it in the saved games folder. Open the game and when loading select the new file. done. It can be done with a saved game you were already using too.
Sorry for the bad english |

In fact, you CAN edit contracts in the "pre-game" DB
But yes, there's plenty of other options in a save game although most of these aren't worth editing until later in the season, e.g. fatigue, sponsor happiness, etc. |

the dyn_contract_cyclist comes empty in pre-game database, meaning you have to add everything manually. Is that what you mean? REALLY GOOD. It's funny 'cause i read one of your posts saying there's no saved game editor for 2009 version, but actually adv editor is a database/saved game editor. I see there's no much apreciation for contributions in this site, only criticism. Despite the fact that a lot of people here say they would like to change options only contained in saved games you say it's not worth editing it. If you find my tutorial useless just delete, including my registration here. i just don't care anymore |

Listen, CrueTrue is one of the friendliest and most respectable admins I've ever seen on the web. He is fully supportive of ventures such as these. All he was doing was pointing out a mistake, not to attack you, but so that if someone came along and read your post they wouldn't have the wrong idea. As for his previous posts, I'm sure he was talking about a dedicated save game editor along the lines of Jaap's PCM Dashboard for PCM 07.
Regardless of the reason for his post, calm down, what Crue was saying wasn't meant to be dismissive, so don't go lambasting him when you don't know him at all.

Thank you very much. Haven't really seen a full explanation like this.
However, I have a problem that I've had for a while. Whenever I load my database and change things, I there is no new folder or database when I import/export it. I have tried changing the "Folder Out" and "Database Out" names so they have no spaces, capitals, or numbers, but still nothing. CrueTrue tried to help a couple days ago but I still can't figure it out. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Put the file from Documents/Database/Official Release/Solo into the "Database" folder in the FullEditor archive.

This might help chino069069.
As long as your .db is in the FullEditor_V400\Databases folder then it will work. |

For Bushwackers, this is how it should look. No time for arrows I'm afraid.
1. Click Save button to save your work.
2. Fill in .db out field with the name you want for the exported .db.
3. Click the Export base button. |

Yeah it looks like that, and it exports when I click it, but then I can't find the new databse anywhere. |

Should just be in the databases folder of the Full Editor. |

Dude, relax. I didn't criticize your post at all.
About the DYN_contract_cyclist, you can also choose only to edit a few riders and not all of them in the pre-game DB. This is an idea for database makers like me, because this ups the realism (e.g. giving Boonen a contract with QuickStep until 2011, as in real life).
About the post on save game editors, I'd like to see the exact quote of mine. What I believe you're referring to is a thread where a guy asked for a tool like Dashboard (or a different easy-to-use save game editor) which do not exist for PCM09. But I also believe that I've been saying over and over again that a save game is the same as a DB, and that it can easily be edited with the Advanced Editor.
I'm sorry if my post came across as negative and disrespectful as that wasn't intended. All I wanted was to clarify a few points of your original post. |

I know it should, but its not. Oh well I'll just use the Hannes Editor now. Thanks for the help. |

You can change your balance in gene_f_solde in DYN_team. |

When you've made your changes, write a name next to "Database out" and click Export (in the Advanced Editor tool). |
