Thought i may as well start a new topic as i basically over-ran the FM 2008 one with my questions to isso,
just started up the game with Sheffield Steelers and looks good however, i'm totally confused
this is mainly to do with my major lack of knowledge of hockey, so i will read the manual and see how i am after that

read this: https://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/...m.php?f=35
teaches a whole lot
as I said in the other thread, I especially love the NHL rules on squads and transfers, salary caps, etc.
very complicated, but immensely fun once you get them |

I enjoyed reading it. so if you don't...use it as a reference. look up what you're trying to understand at a given moment. |

i will read it, i've stopped reading the manual as that doesn't look as good as this guide
EDIT: oh, i've failed already, on the 1st point it says if you're inexperienced start with a good team, and i chose Sheffield Steelers

these guys know their stuff. they've done a whole lot of work on an unfaking patch (quite a few club names from europe and player names from the US are faked for legal reasons)
and there's also quite a few team logos, faces of players (instead of the generic goalie/defender/whatever Icon)
backgrounds
and a lot of other graphical stuff
they're currently working on a season 07/08 update. which of course won't be ready until the season starts
I can send you all those great add-ons if you like, but I think they only work for the full game... |

here's a question: why don't sweden have any good keepers?
(holmqvist doesn't count) |

great answer
the guy is just a rock. unbelievable thing is...he's so consistent. rarely ever has a bad game. if the rangers are to go anywhere, it's with that man (since Jagr isn't getting any younger) |

"yeah, well apart from Henrik Lundkvist and holmqvist and anyone else you come up with, why don't sweden have a good goalie?"

"yeah, I mean...apart from Zetterberg, Alfredsson, Naslund, Sedin, Modin, Holmstrom, Huselius, you hardly have any decent wingers. what's up with that?" |

he'll probably turn into one of those that make the "greatest steals" list
he was drafted 6th round...unbelievable |

when? when eveyone else is injured? Nylander hardly ever plays there either. but that might have something to do with the Rangers being stacked at center. |
