So i've just finished my first proper full season with a custom team. I've gotta say i love this new feature. Anyway, to the point. Near the end of my first season my scout came up with a talented rider so i gambled and signed him without fully scouting him. With the new system for signing young riders anytime during the season (awesome change imo) i wanted him to join in the beginning of the new season so i could develope him. And what a pot of gold he seems to be. Honestly the most talented young rider my scouts have ever found in all of my games of pcm2007,-08 or 09.
Look at those starting stats and the potential! I cant wait for him to develope and see where he ends up.
Anyone else found any monster talents in 2009 yet?

Get him a three year contract and at least an international level trainer. Within the season he should be a capable of being useful in continental. It will either pay off in wins or when a PT team offers you four million euros for him
That said, be warned that he could just be an early bloomer and that he may reach his peak quite soon.

Well, even if he blooms early he'll still be pretty good And yeah, i have a 3 year contract with him and i've hired a new trainer with good stage race skill specifically for him

Could you print screen your team please. I just want to see how you planned your team as I am struggling under the budget of 507,000 to create a good team with very little young riders. I have just created a team but I have had to sign 6 young riders to make the 20 riders up. |

I'd rather not upload the savegame tbh. I've put in alot of time and i wanna see how he evolves myself, sorry. As to the team photo i can but i started with 230k budget and alot on young riders. Why wouldnt u want em? They are dirt cheap and there's always a chance they turn out good. I usually fill up with as many youngsters as i can when making a custom team. |

This was the team i started with:
I ended up 5th in the continental team ranking and my sprinter was second in the ind. ranking. I didnt push for promotion as my team wasnt good enough for the protour anyway and i wanted another year to develop it. I've added quite a few riders since then ofc.

Thanks I will give your method a try and give the youngsters a chance, I have just had to quit my career with my custom team because my sponsers were unhappy because of my finances going into serious debt. |

Only normal difficulty, i've upped it now though. And i did focus on flat races and anything with a TT stage.

Take a look at André Steensen of Saxo Bank... He's also 21 and quite a nice talent. E.g. He has 69 and 5 stars in mountain. He's also good in tt and recovery. |

Thats a very good talent but tbh i aint to fed up with the talents progression. In my game Jimmy Casper will be the best sprinter togheter with Cavendish and Haussler (which is good because he is in my team ^^), in the mountains Javier Moreno will get a 85, Contador, Kreuziger, D.Martin 84. <.< |
