How can I implent new stages into the career mode?
Wich files need to be edit in the advance editor?
I have figured out that STA_race and STA_stage need to be edit, but is there more files to be edit?
I have the xml files for the stage itself... |

Instead of creating a new thread, I figured I could use this for my question.
I'm sick and tired of TTTs in the TDF variants in my carreer game, so I want to turn the one for next season into an ITT.
Is this possible? If it is, do I need to edit anything else than the .descr file for the variant (changing "type" from 3 to 2) and the xml file for the relevant stage? (changing <start altitude="255" ttt="1" /> to itt and adding finish_itt)
Or has all the variant details already been loaded into the carreer? |

as far as i remember, the stage type is stored and set into the stagefile (.zces) itself, so there's no way to edit it unless you have the source file.
easiest and fastest way to achieve your goal is to wait for the game to enter the season of the stage you want to change the type of, then edit the "sta_stage" table in your savegame, spot the stage you wish to edit and then change its "fkIDstage_type" column from "3" (TTT) to "2" (ITT)

Thanks for the help. So changing stage type doesn't have any side effects?
I have a few more things I would like to do with my carreer, help would be appreciated:
1. I want to change some National Championship stages, so that different types of riders become NCs. I have the XML files I want to use. What to do?
2. The TTT I asked about earlier. If I want to replace that stage with one from another variant (an ITT), what to do? (Or is it a lot easier to just stick with the stage which is there already and change it to ITT as mentioned in this thread?)
3. I want to add more variants (which I have from another DB) for the upcoming season. I guess I should just find the guide to do that which is somewhere on this forum, but my question here is...
WHEN should I do all this? The current season is coming to an end. Should I change things before the next season, or wait until it has started?
Thanks in advance for any help |

1. In one of the PCM.daily DBs, we added variants for several NCs. You could do the same - they work in the same way as all other variants. More instructions in #3.
2. If you want to use another stage, you need to place it in CM_Stages and change the file name in STA_stage (or DYN_variant_stage). You still need to change the stage_type.
3. Alright -- add the variants to your variants folder. Then start a new save game. Move forward to the 2nd of January. Close down the game and open the new save game with the Full Editor. Copy DYN_variant_stage and DYN_variant_date to your other (older) save game, export it, and they should now be a part of your save game. |
