I bought the game this week downloaded the correct patch, the GCT database and the Hannes Converter 2.0. I chose to manage Barloworld and as this was my first attempt at the game had a slow start to the season but a good May and early June meant that I got a wildcard for the Tour De France.
I only used the Hannes Converter to alter the contracts of my riders as there were some I didn't want to have for next season so altered the contract date to 2007.
My problem is at the end of June while simulating the Czech Republic National Championship the game crashes to the desktop. I reloaded the database which was backed up from the beginning of June and tried again and once more the game crashed while simulating the Czech Republic National Championship.
My question is basically do I have to start again and hope that it doesn't happen again or is there a way round this as with the problems people are having with the TDF in Season 4 or can I use the Hannes Converter to delete the Czech National Champs?
My best guess is that this has something to do with the contracts you altered, since the end of june/start of july is the period in which you can contact riders for contracts the next season. You should know that contracts are coded inside the database on more than one place, so probably there is a inconsistency there.
What I want to know from you:
1. Did you alter the database in the middle of the season (so maybe you altered your savegame instead?)
2. What editor did you use? Hannes only released version 1 of his editor... Maybe you are talking about an earlier version of PCM?
3. What editor can you use? With an earlier version of Hannes, you can edit the status of the riders, therefore removing them from you team (so you don't have to edit the (in my opinion) 'unstable' contractdates.
It was an altered saved game for PCM 07 using converter 2.0, which is save game compatable.
I have started a new game now and managed to get past the date on that one. I also now make back ups of my saved games in case something similar happens again.
I have been playing about with the editor with regards to contracts and I now believe, correct me if I am wrong, that you cannot alter contracts for riders whose contracts expire at the end of the first season as they are not created in the cyclist next year table and you are unable to add them in as the table won't save properly.
Therefore you need to alter the contracts for riders whose contracts expire at the end of the second season before the second season starts, so that the next year table is updated correctly, and so on for each subsequent year.
It is just frustrating that even though you know that you will earn promotion to the top tour that your best cyclists refuse to sign a new contract with you even though they keep requesting one and become demotivated when they are not offered one.
