Didn't know where to post it, but it's story related, so:
In nearly all stories, people hide the energy bars? Why?
I (and surely many others) find it interesting to see how much energy riders have left. |

Well, i'm sure most people doesn't treat PCM stages as a nature museum, it's more important with the race itself... |

It's also a method that story tellers use for making the reader feel like he is "watching" real cycling... |

You can't hide them in-game though, can you? The story writers simply crop away all those interesting little bits, and so you only get less, not more of anything.
I see how some readers want the stories to look like cool and real reporting, but that aspect is, to me, not interesting. What I like about stories, is always how the player gets results, builds and commands his team, how a rider is performing, that sort of thing. The rider bars also give a better overview, showing how many teammates are still in the peloton.

Doesn't matter how cool it looks. |

It creates a better story. Yeah maybe 3 or 4 people don't like it as much but 99% of the people do. You can play PCM by yourself. It's a story which is why in a real cycling races, things aren't predictable. You don't know how much energy people have left or how much water. It's for realism. Plus if we show the whole pictures then the picture is so large.

I totally agree with this post, I like the story bring made in that way, as matt said, it creates a realistic feeling. |

Two ways: Click the little "arrow" thing in the right corner of each of the rider bars - or do as doddy13 said, CTRL + H. The latter is something that all story makers should find interesting as it hides the entire rider panel. |

If you hide the energy bar you wont know how much energy your rider has left. |
