Can anyone help - strange problem that happens after a crash (which seems to happen every few stages)
- I am running stage race (not a career)
- PCM crashes and i restart
- I reload the last game
- I am stuck in the screen before the 3D race or simulation
- no matter which one I click the the game gives me a short message about other races happening (day turn) but i cannot get my race to start either in 3D or simulation. Seems though the calendar keeps going since very time I click on the 3D button a day passes but nothing else really happens and i cannot get the race to load.
- I use the PCM daily database
any ideas anyone? |

Try your backup save game. It's located in My Docs/PCM/Database/Solo/OfficialRelease.
One of the files has a ~ after it. Remove it (the ~) and try loading that save game instead. |

Yes I have tried that but no luck.
It seems that the internal calendar has simply moved past my race so I cannot start it and every time I click the 3d or simulate button the calendar just keeps advancing. |

Just found that this problems is connected to all my savable games (stage race or career) independent from any crashes. Basically whenever I leave a game and then restart and load the save game.
I cannot play any of the races or simulate them. Nothing happens apart fomr the calendar progressin every time I click "simulate" or "3D race"
The calendar just advances but nothing else happens I have reset the game (deleted the appropriate folders) but the problem persists, making this game absolutely useless. |

I've heard about the problem several times. Even tried it myself a couple of times - but finding a solution, never. I guess the only thing you can do is start over. |

I think I found a solution (more about it in the technical forum of cyanide): Use ALT+Tab to leave the game without closing it. Then copy the save to a save location. Then close the game. Copy the save back before you start the game.
Whenever a new day started or you raced or simulated a stage, the game does save. After it did save, you can copy your save without losing anyting. So just play another stage after you changed the training plans for example and you should be able to play a career. |

Thanks a lot, I will try that.
Would be even better though if we did not have to do this every time we race a stage and instead the game would work as it is supposed to. Have you tried reinstalling? |

It can only work with a new career which is not corrupt yet. Did you try with a new one?
I think it is better to have it public, because others could have the same problem. |

Yes I started a new stage race (not career) and copied the save file into a new folder at the end of the race. Then closed the game. Restared it and copied the renamed save game back in to the correct folder. Same problem though.
I did this in windowed mode (ALT+TAB does not seem to work when i use full screen. I am not sure if this makes a difference or whether you use any other settings within PCM that could affect this.
I am waiting for a new serial number so i can do a reinstall as it seems no one has reliably tested the reinstall using the registry yet for PCM 09.
I wonder if this problem is just something in relation to dates and time zones maybe. I once had a problem with a game that got screwed up only because I was in a timezone way ahead of Europe or North America. I know this would be very weird and there is really no reason for this to be the problem.
Also sent a message to support on this but am not very hopeful they will fix this unless more people have the problem. |

Some people have the same or a similar problem, but it looks like the cyanide crew does read the posts in their english spoken technical forum. (at least they do not reply) |

Does anybody have the same problem? If yes, Cyanide wants to look into this, so please to the official forum and answer there: https://www.cyanid...&t=398 |
