Total Newbie Questions

1. Are there different race quality levels? As a brand new career team what level races should I be striving to enter? With my budget I doubt I can compete against the CYA teams in the Major events.

2. How do I set a rider to follow somebody else? Please be detailed.
3. Can I set one of my riders to follow another teams rider?

My support riders are pretty weak - can I set my leader to follow a current race leader?

4. There appears to be an effort bar at the bottom of the list of my riders. What is that bar for and when should I adjust it?
5. For a start up team is it more important to have good scouts or good trainers.

Thanks for the help.

1. Yes, there's race categories. UPT or CTT, as they are called in the original game, are the top races, and these count towards the UPT / CTT Ranking. As you're in control of a Continental Team you'd like to go for continental races, though. These are 1.HC (classics), 2.HC (tours), 1.1, 2.1, 1.2 and 2.2.

2. It depends - in a finishing sprint, you can ask your sprinter to follow another team's sprinter by right clicking the guy you want to follow and click "follow". You can also ask one of your riders to protect / follow your leader. Select the team mate and right click your leader, select "protect".

3. Look above.

4. Well, it's used to decide how much effort your riders should put into the work. When you're in the peloton, you do not need to do a lot of effort, therefore it can be set relatively low. However, when you're on the attack or sprinting, you'd set this high.

5. The scouts are used to find new talents, the trainers to develop your current riders - so it depends on what you're into Wink

Simpler way of putting it: more effort, the faster you go, the more tired your rider will be. less effort, slower you go, less tired the rider will be.

Reading the manual is strongly advised Wink
