The decisive mountain stage has arrived
Mickael Delage goes off on a solo breakaway
Behind him, Borrajo beat Awang in close battles in the first 2 sprints for 2nd, while beating Westling by an even tighter margin for the 3rd
Delage is still in front at the top of the first of the days climbs, but is clearly starting to struggle
Taking 2nd is Cadel Evans, ahead of Alarcon and Parra Bustamente
With 19km still to go, now onto the final climb, Parra Bustamente attacks
Past Delage, into the lead
It's caused a rise in pace of the peleton, and Duran is in trouble
An 11 man group forms behind Parra Bustamente - including 6 Olympus AirAsia riders.
Cassidy and Balck are in the same group as Duran, and for some reason Garate and Bosisio are there too, leading the pointless chase - there will be a new race leader today
In a flat section halfway up the climb, Osella stretches out the group - which has caught Parra Bustamente
The group are now Osella, Pedraza, Parra Bustamente, Alarcon, Ortega, Carrarra, Evans, Zandio and Medevedev
Attacks! Pedraza and Carrarra launch off the front
Alarcon looks to go with them as the trio get a gap
But they hesitate and so Zandio comes back up to them, dragging Evans with him
Parra Bustamente and Medvedev also make it back
And now Ortega and Osella too
The attacks come again near the top and Alarcon takes the full points
But he had better watch behind him as Evans continues to attack
The Aussie storms into the lead, pursued by teammate Carrara
Pedraza is also in close pursuit in this fast run in to the line
2km to go for Evans
Now 1km - his lead is shortening
Carrara catches his teammate
And flies straight past!
Matteo Carrara takes the stage and race lead!
Its an Olympus 1-2 while Pedraza takes 3rd
Zandio takes 4th behind them
Just under 7 minutes after Carrara, Duran comes in alone having seemingly attacked his group in a desperate bid to cling back as much time as possible. But he still slips out of the top 10
