Underrated riders
E_Hagen
There are a lot of rider in the pack who are good, but underrated riders who are good but doesn't get too much attention.

- Eduard Vorganov

This russian riding for Xacobeo Galicia is a very good allrounder. In the Giro he was in a breakaway very often and he finished between 10th ant 30-40th in every stage. Overall he got a 23th position. If i'm right, he'll go protour soon.

- Jeremy Roy

Frenchmen love attacking, and this young guy is no exeption. He has ridden well in the Tour, Paris-Noce and now in Switzerland, and he shold make it to the Tour. His stagewin in the Paris-Nice was very good when Voeckler and Martin kept attacking without getting away and Roy's only attempt was successful. I tell you, it's quite a job holding off two such strong guys solo.

Come with suggestions yourself!

Personally i think mikel astarloza if you look at how well he did in the tour last year you have to give him credit and he is not afraid to attack like in dauphine and the vuelta last year Grin you can also see the pain on his face and i hardly say everyone mention him. Espically when it comes to grand tours as he is top 10 material.

Also haimar zubeldia was very underrated. He was one of the best stage racers in the world a few years back. You just have to look at his stats on pcm games and it says it all. He is always a 77 god knows why!!

As well johan van summeran is a class all rounder he can do everything and a great teamrider who hardly gets a mention. He won tour of poland and still nobody think he is decent. He could help cadel in the tour if he gets a slot.

Adriano Malori (21 years old): Amazing time trial talent, is italian champion on time trial for U23 three times, European champion for U23 in 2008 and won the World Championship in Varese 2008 on time trial for U23, when he was only twenty years old.

Gesinks time trial ability is grossly underrated...

For me is Nibali , underated by liquigas , when he does a good dauphine they make tdf captains Pelizoti and Kreuziger , he does not have the team back-up and he is hardly regarded a contender , when in fact he is the best young italian stage racer , and he has the amazing ability of coming back on the leaders when they drop him he has raw power .

And the other one clearly for me Greipel , he had a lot of wins last year but if he will come in a big tour nobody will take him to win a stage , that's the counterpart of choising the small racers instead of the big racers , is his fault really for his schedule but in my opinion if he will compete as sprinter in a GT he will win stages Wink

Tejay VanGarderen. Here in America, most of they hype has been around Taylor Phinney. While Phinney is doing a great job, Tejay has won two stage races this year in Europe for RB3 and is on his way to another one.

Indeed, I'm getting tired of people saying his time trial isn't good, now even Jacky Durand

Ffs, Gesink beat Nibali every time this year in long time trials, and everybody still thinks Nibali is better in TT. Frown

Gesink was a tt at amateur level ex tt champ , who says gesink tt is weak , clearly do not knows his past and his abilities , he is not great at tt now , but for a stage racer it's good he will never loose more then 1 min to the top favourites

Nibali made great progression in climbing this year btw. Compared to last 2 years, he has gone from decent to very very good.

He lost his tt skills like rogers did , but he is climbing fantastic , but he needs to get off liquigas ASAP , he will be the last choice for a captain role in every GT

Personally I think that Amets Txurruka is underrated, he don't have many big results but is very aggresive, and last year in the tour, he was first man pulling up Tourmalet, but Astarloza that was supposed to be taken the next relay had to let go very quickly, and the pack schrimmped signifcantly

Dominique Rollin:

My favorite rider, big and powerful. Has good skill on the cobbles (3rd at Schelderprijs), can get over the hills and has a very good kick. Can be a great breakaway rider and classics domestique.

He's pretty young, so watch out (26 or so). His biggest results so far are the 3rd at Schelderprijs, taking 3rd in the Tour de Georgia in 2007, and of course the stage win in the 2008 Tour of California, on that monster 7+ hour stage in a torrential downpour.

Moncoutié? - Shown what he's worth in Dauphiné and is targeting the Polka dot in the tour. Watch out for him.

Possibly Feillu too, not as sure about him. But this is OK for a palmares for this year:
2009
Tour de Picardie

1st, Stage 2
Overall winner, points classification
Overall winner, Young rider classification

3rd, Route Adélie

Edit: A lot of French riders are good, the fact is they are attacking riders (generally), and thats great, makes them exciting to watch. (Am i a fan of Voeckler, uhh kinda).

He kinda won Mont Ventoux, he did well on that stage, whatever people thought of him before, now it'll be a little different.

So did Hushovd and Vaitkus. And they're not elite time triallists Wink
