Hey if you change the date of a career with Hannes for example will all of the rider progression take place as it normally would or is everything exactly the same just on a different date? If so is there anyway to for example skip a season or a month and still have your young riders progress?

Nope, you're literally just moving the date forward by one day. So if you did it for an entire season, all that would happen is the date goes forward a year, and no results are recorded for that season. And nothing else would have progressed. Rider's would be the same.
