Many stories are here on PCM daily at this moment. From famous and immortal Columbia sprint train, across some ambitious Pro tour or Continental team stories, to currently very popular one-rider stories. Some of these are good, others more then good
But if I checked well, no managed team has green jerseys!!! And now right time for change is coming - welcome in my new story
An Post - Sean Kelly Team : Long way to glory
I´m using PCM daily DB V3 modified by myself. The most significant change is lowering of free riders from 1600 (?) to about 150. It could make transfers more realistic. I don´t really want to fight in season 2+ against British team (e.g. Team Halfords) with riders from 15 nations on roster as I experienced in my last story. However this step causes another thing - teams are very active in scouting area, signing riders from Algeria, Jamaica and so on. According my personal rule British team = British youngsters, these riders will be deleted from DB without mercy It will be quite time consuming, but I´ve found I like picking at DB
Difficulty is hard (it could be changed to extreme in next seasons).
My main personal goal is to make good readable long-term story, hope you´ll enjoy it!
Short team presentation will follow...

Cool team - when I was testing the daily.db played with this team.
Should be capable of some good results in Belgium in the spring. |

Usual short team pre-season presentation.
First of all, here are important races and sponsor goals for this season.
first bad news, Organizers of Etoile de Besseges and Tour de Belgique doesn´t want to see my team as a part of their races...in case of Belgium Tour it is very unpleasant, I´ve just started my season and already can´t reach all objectives... (no, I´ll not change it in DB )
I also signed contract with some secondary sponsors, two of them are short-termed, hope they´ll be willing to sign new contracts in July.
Andy finally, here is my squad. I have some decent sprinters and cobble riders here, whilst Jef Peeters are only capable rider into small hills.
If I won´t harden my squad, I´d bet mostly at Belgian veteran Nico Eeckhout, he´s without doubt my best rider at this moment.
As mentioned before, this is my leader for Tour of Ireland and Britain - Jef Peeters.
Last but not least I´d like to introduce my best young rider, Steven Van Vooren. He is the guy, who could bring some shine victories to us in near future.
Few words about my transfer policy. I definitely prefer Irish and Belgian riders, I expect most of new faces will come from Belgium. |

I've managed to sign two young promised Belgian riders!
I'm counting with both riders as leaders in several occasions through the season.
We'll move to New Zealand soon to participate Tour of Wellington, our opening race. |

Great signings. Already quite good compared to your other riders, ad considering their age, they've still got the chance to develop quite a bit.
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

Tour of Wellington
41. J.Ghyselinck
42. M.Brammeier
43. M.Cassidy
44. N.Eeckhout
45. K.Lisabeth
46. R.McLaughlin
47. D.O'Loughlin
48. S.Van Vooren
As a part of preparation for spring objectives we flied to New Zealand and participated in Tour of Wellington, our first season race. Despite of pretty strong team here, I didn´t expected any great results. But i was wrong! My riders made really awesome job.
First success came in stage 2, Van Vooren led our sprint train with Ghyselinck and Eeckhout on his rear wheel in bunch sprint and Nico Eeckhout confirmed his team role and took first win for our team. Jan Ghyselinck sprinted as 3rd, beaten by of sprinter competition Alex Candelario (Kelly Benefit Strategies) only.
Next stage with finish at Admiral Hill, was decisive for overall standings, Matthias Frank from BMC Racing Team won after short solo ride, took yellow jersey and hold it to the end. Ghyselinck showed his power and moved up to 7th place in overall standings.
Nico Eeckhout was really close to his second win in stage 4, but was beaten on finish line.
Although stage 5 was short circuit, peloton splited in final kilometres due to strong winds and Ghyselinck jumped to 3rd place! And he was even able to improve his position in stage 6, short flat timetrial! My another rider, David O´Loughlin managed to sell his biggest eligibility, taking amazing 3rd place. Only young German talent Patrick Gretsch (Thüringer Energie Team) and Dan Craven (Rapha Condor) were fastest.
Jan Ghyselinck proved that best defence is attack in last, another circuit, stage and almost shocked by surprising win. Unfortunately he was beaten on the line by Gordon McCauley...however he shoved himself as strong combatitive rider with bright future in my team!

Next race, we are joining, is Tour de Langkawi. Same team will participate, I´d like to see my team active in flat stages as we have no chance to succeed in overall classification due to queen stage finishing at Genting Highlands.
