Hello! I'm a long time follower and just decided to start posting!
I'd love to do a story soon, but I think my computer is too slow and the graphics are too bad to make it fun.
I'm an American so cycling is not very well known over here (especially in Ohio!), so I am probably not as knowledgable about cycling as many of you and often use this site to get my cycling news. This, obviously, makes me a typical American cycling fan that was caught up in the Grand Tours (mostly THE tour) until about a year ago. So while I'm caught up to date on a lot of current stuff, my cycling history knowledge--non-existent! I'm also pretty naive about who is/isn't a doper and mostly believe the good of everyone. |

Hi there
If you're new to cycling, here's a suggestion: don't miss the Giro. It's usually the coolest race on the calendar and it starts soon. |

I guess new to cycling wasn't SUPER accurate. I've followed very closely for about a year. Obviously here in the States I could watch the whole Giro after it's over in a 2 hour recap show...or I just try to do live updates on cyclingnews. Not the best, but fun. I'm super excited for it. Is that what your countdown is about? |

Welcome. Ben.
It's nice you're interested by cycling. As you will soon realise, there are a lot of funny races, not just the Tour. Actually, I do agree with Isso, you should pay attention to the Giro. It's really cool. Especially when italians break their alliances.
And about the doping issue, don't care, if you follow this forum you will soon read hundreds of accusations and denials. But, to be honest, if I were you I'd continue being kind of naive about it. Unless the rider is Valverde. Or Kloden. Or Contador. Or Armstrong. Or...

No. It's something about his vacations. Not funny to see it, by the way, when my vacations are like 200 days away.

Live tickers? Why not use live streams instead?
Anyway, welcome. It's always great to have followers turn into active members |

Hmmmmm Ohio you say? You either made that up (unlikely because there isn't much here to be proud of except maybe ceder point or over zealous college sports fans) Or odds are i know you because there seems to be about a dozen or so cyclists in this whole state
What part of Ohio are you from if you don't mind my asking?

Hopefully not Athens, that city is 1/3rd college students, 1/3rd hippies, and 1/3rd rednecks.
Its not a good mix |

Nah, Maryland born and bread. Although when I say Maryland I should say D.C., as I live in one of the suburbs (Bethesda, the smartest and richest city in the US) |

Don't worry, there will be live streams for you to watch and there's always torrents to download high quality video after the race

Great. With the time difference, maybe it'll give me something to do at work more exciting than work
Any chance there will be streams in English? |

Whatever kills the boredom. I personally watch Top Gear episodes when I'm bored

Worst case scenario, you can listen to british eurosport streaming audio in parallel
