Does riding with the breakaway groups have any effect on sponsors?

Whenever I watch cycling on TV and there is a breakaway, the commentator always put emhpasis on the fact that it is good for the team sponsors to be more exposed, so that people can actually see the ads on the riders' jerseys.
So my question is, as it says in the topic subject, does it work that way in PCM or do only wins and general classification count? |

I'm quite convinced that it doesn't have an actual influence on anything. |

Me too - though it would be a really nice addition to the game as a goal. |

I'm pretty sure, it doesn't exist, but yeah, it would be a nice addition.
But riding in not succeding breakaways isn't a total waste of energi, I think. I've noticed a column in DYN_cyclist, with a name sounding something like "Time since last breakaway" - perhaps it has an effect on the riders happiness?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't really have any effect, except for the fact the riders will tire much faster and end up finishing way behind the rest. That seems to have a bit of an effect on their happiness too - they're getting unhappy because they can't keep up with the pack.
So usually I don't send up anyone up front, except for a dispensable rider who's only riding along for fun (you never know whether they will stay up in front and you won't need to do any work up front if you're clinging on with a short relay of 40 ).
It would be nice to have the 'Most attacking rider' or something along the lines, as the big races (TdF) have. I believe it even comes with a sort of award (red numbers, or something) - or am I mistaken with the last one in the GC?
But either way, it should indeed have effect on sponsors. Every sponsor would like to see someone up front trying to break away, even if it's a lost cause, since it still means publicity. |

it does come with an award of the most combative rider of the day and of the tour, the rider of the day where a red number the next day and the rider of the tour win an award
Ladagnous won Tropicale cycliste Amissa Bongo

i think the whole breakaway pleasing sponsors would be a great idea.
Especially with some goals, e.g. Agritubel
1 - Participate in a breakaway in the Tour de France.
There's no point slapping a schleck - Sean Kelly on "Who needs a slap"

Yes indeed, a lot of the smaller teams get more publicity from participating in breakaways than actual wins. Even Euskaltel sometimes gets most of it's publicity because of their continuous attacks. |

Mike, you should recommend this to Clement Pinglet. It wouldn't take much time at all, as they already have the code to define what a breakaway is, so the hard part would already have been done. |

By writing here and in the suggestions thread, you indirectly suggest things to Cyanide. They're reading |

Well, it would probably have to be more like:
Participate in a breakaway in the Tour de France for at least X km.
Everybody can attack for 100 m and be a breakaway for 1 km.

More likely they would qualify a breakaway as a group the blah blah, gains a minute on the pack, blah blah. And they would require you to be in multiple breakaways |

it would be nice. Psychologically I really like to be in a breakaway, you kind of know that you´re aggressive though you might not have a chance on the GC or sprint |

Goal should be something along the lines of ride 500k in breaks in GT's.
Ride at least 50k in a one day race. |
