I am playing Astana with the OfficialRelease DB and I currently am just finishing up the TDF (Stage 21) and have a comfy lead with Contador...my question pertains to my TRANSFER MONEY...currently it shows a -255,000. I would love some information on my situation. My sponsors are feeling EXCELLENT and I have about 50,000 available for monthly salaries so I would love information on what impact my negative TRANSFER budget will entail. I pretty much have all my big names signed at least through 2009 and 2010, so just wondering what the whole TRANSFER issue is for in an depth way if possible.
BTW...this is my first post! and I love this site and PCM!
I think basically you wont be able to resign any more riders, because contract renewal fees come from the transfer funds. It should all be fine as long as you have your riders all tied up on contracts. I don't know how it affects free agent signings, but as long as you have a positive overall balance at the end of the year you shouldn't have any problems. I assume it will recover the negative balance from your overall balance, so be careful.
It should change (hopefully more positively) when you get your new budget when progress into the next season
I dont think the money for signing free agents. That comes out of the salary cap i think. I got Samual sanchez of a free agent at the end of my 1st season with Caisse D'erpagne so if he comes available at the end, an you have the salary to sign him I would recommend you sign him he is a fantastic decender which is very useful as he can climb well aswell.
Thanks for the replies, that is kind of what I was looking at and thanks for the Tip about Sanchez. With my youngsters coming up I have a real nice support system for the GT's. Contador won the Paris Nice and the TDF (with Kloden coming in 2nd for the TDF in GC!!), so I am going for the Vuelta as well. Kloden lost the Dauphine by 4 seconds, but a 2nd is nice.
I am pretty sure I should be OK going into next season and I will watch out for how I use my Transfers going forward.
