Heading towards the first elimination - who will fall at the first hurdle?
Muntaner and Lauge seem to be in a bit of trouble
But as they go safe, it is now Kluge at the back
The German somehow manages to push his way wide
And Shchedov is out!
We move onto the next elimination quickly
Heimans, O'Reilly and Chrsitian are potential casualties here
But the latter 2 go roudn the outside, as Heimans is not as quick
Quick enough though, he makes it safe as David Muntaner is left stranded and eliminated

Petrovskiy takes his turn to live dangerously, hanging off the back
Looking up the inside probably wont work for him, but De Neef is now also struggling
They both make it over the top though - and it is Cody O'Reilly who is out

Avila and Dostal take to the front, with Kneisky sat on the back
But there is a whole line of people who could be eliminated, not just Kneisky
Petrovskiy and Heimans appear to be in the most trouble
But infact it is Mark Christian who is out
Aeschbasch takes control and powers the peleton as numerous riders are swinging up the banking in a bid to survive
De Neef and Bobridge are at the back, but on the outside
Its very tight on the line between Avila and Viviani - and the Colombian is the unlucky one

It doesnt matter how stretched out the riders get in the lap and a half following an elimination
For they are always bunched up again as the sprint hits full flow
A line of 8 is forming, with Kluge in the unwanted position of behind that line
But Lauge throws Kluge a lifeline as he gets caught behind another rider
Lauge just makes it through though, and Kluge is gone

We are into the final 9 now
And the Melbourne winner Kneisky is finding himself in a spot of bother
Petrovskiy is back there once again too, but Kneisky has no fight in him today and is out

Theres a great big line of riders now and Petrovskiy is caught behind it
Petrovskiy is now gapped and could be in trouble
But he has the pace and puts himself into safety - now who is going to be out?

And Viviani appears to be struggling
Theres no coming back, he is spent - and now out
Riders arent given a chance to bunch up as Lauge and Petrovskiy get a little gap
The plan goes wrong for the Dane though, he soon finds himself in trouble
The riders cross the line one by one, Lauge can do nothing and must accept elimination

Aeschbasch, Petrovskiy, De Neef, Heimans and Dostal are the final 5 - three of them reached this stage yesterday
But it seems Heiman or Dostal wont have the chance to improve on their best finish
Heimans takes the advantage, but is caught behind the other 2 riders
And Dostal uses this to his advantage and edges past on the line to eliminate Heimans

4 left now, as Aeschbasch and Dostal hit the front
And it seems that De Neef and Petrovskiy will now be battling to make it into the final 3
De Neef is stronger but has less room than the Russian
But Petrovskiy just cant take advantage, and is out

Dostal, De Neef and Aeschbasch are the final 3
And neither of them seem to be significantly stronger or weaker than each other
Dostal is knocked out as De Neef and Aeschbasch are through to the final 2
The stay side by side, going into the final lap
De Neef edges infront
But Aeschbasch is not ready to give up
He closes back in on the Belgian, and its going to be a close finish
Aeschbasch takes victory on the line!
