Its time for the first pre-season Track event of the season, to officially kick off the 2010 management game season.
Use the following thread to discuss the 'live' coverage: https://www.pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthr...ad_id=7949
---
The rules of elimination are simple. 30 laps, one rider eliminated each lap until theres just 2 left to decide the finale.
After the control rider drops out, its time for the action to start. Mike Lauge leads out the pack arount the first proper elimination lap
Its a rather subdued affair, nobody seems to go for it and finding himself stuck at the back, Edwin Avila of Wii Racing is out!
The Danish rider Lauge continues to lead up to the next elimination, until Mark Christian flies past
This one is much much closer than the first - but it is Italian Elia Viviani who is eliminated

The race has certainly started now as Mark Christian piles on the pressure up front
And quickly regrets it - elimination for the Brit!
Heimans and Bobridge now take up the pace setting
But as the sprint to the next elimination begins, they are slipping back!
Now the pair are in real danger - but so is German Roger Kluge!
Kluge is closing quick, but not quite quick enough. The LEGO rider is eliminated in a very tight photo finish

Petrovskiy and O'Reilly now take up leading responsibilities
But Petrovskiy is finding himself trapped on the inside
The Russian Wiggle rider is out!
Its starting to seem like a bad idea to hit the front too soon - but somebody has got to do it and this time it is Morgan Kneisky of France
Its almost predictable isnt it? Kneisky slips right back as the rest charge through
Predictable? Pah. Kneisky finds a gap and slips through it - Lauge is out!

The pace isnt going to let up as Levi Heimans leads the way round the bend ahead of the next elimination
Heimans is safe, while at the back Kneisky again seems to be having problems as he battles Muntaner of Spain.
The Santander rider seems to have the edge, but has taken the more risky option of going through the pack
It looks to be curtains for Kneisky but with a huge lunge on the line he has survived! Seemingly safe, American Cody O'Reilly is gone

The riders from Czech Republic and Ukraine have been pretty anonymous so far - good tactics - but now they could be in danger as they find themselves near the back with not long to go
But Jack Bobridge is caught napping, not good news for the Aussie
But he recovers and it is very close on the line. And Bobridge is safe - as Steven de Neef perishes, caught out as a slowing Aeschbasch took up the space in front of him

Things are starting to get stretched out
But we're all back together and close as elimination nears
Bobridge and Kneisky are getting used to battling on the line - but whose luck is up this time?
Bobridge is out!

Dutchman Heimans doesnt want anybody to have a rest, as he pounds down on his pedals
But as he watches Shchedov fly past, is there going to be some dire consequences approaching for Heimans?
No there is not, some shrewd tactics prevents 3 riders passing him, and Kneisky continues to ride his luck as Muntaner is eliminated

We are down to 5 riders, all must surely fancy their chances - but a mistake now could prove costly
Jan Dostal hits the front hard - a good tactical ride so far, since this is the first time he has been named!
Alexander Aeschbasch was caught napping though, and there was simply no coming back for the Swiss rider

Dostal, Heimans, Kneisky and Shchedov are the final 4
Kneisky is gapped! Is this the end for the man who has been in so many close calls on the line?
It doesnt look like he is going to close the gap now
Perhaps thats what the other riders thought, as never giving up, Kneisky is now right back in with a chance!
Why oh why did they leave him such a big gap? He lunges for the line, wow its close!
And he has only gone and done it again! Kneisky is through, Heimans is eliminated

Hopman takes to the front, and there is a gap to Kneisky. The frenchman either cant or wont close it
I suspect the answer is that he wouldnt close it, as now we go down the back straight and Hopman is under great pressure
The Czech rider has no response to his rivals
And he is eliminated, leaving 2 riders to fight it out

Kneisky and Shchedov couldnt have had more contrasting races. Shchedov has seemingly never been in danger, while Kneisky has seemingly never been out of danger.
The Ukranian rides for WalMart, while Credit Lyonnais and Sic Radical are supporting Kneisky. And here goes the sprint!
Unbelievable - Kneisky is pulling out a gap!!
Shchedov can do nothing as Morgan Kneisky celebrates an unlikely victory!
Kneisky takes the World Cup lead in the elimintaion, but theres still 9 more World Cup events to go.
