We have a spot of rain in Lisbon today, but otherwise it's a splendid day for the top sprinters in PCT to duke it out in this one day classic.

We get a decent sized breakaway right from the start with a total of 9 riders in this group:

Another 10 km later we have two new additions to the break with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/znf.png Fretin and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/min.png Ndungu bringing the break up to 11 riders.

The peloton sets into it's own rhythm as the breakaway's lead stretches over 6 minutes. Riders from Spark, Specialized, Gjensidige and Assa Abloy are setting the tempo.

We fast forward to about the halfway mark of the race. The breakway is up by 4 minutes as we transition into the more undulating half of the race.

With just under 50 km to go the longest hills have been dealt with, but there are still some rises before the finish. The peloton is 2 minutes behind the race leaders.

With 20 km left the race is back together and everyone is over the penultimate climb of the day.
