It’s the penultimate mountain stage of the race and although it’s short it includes two cat. 1 climbs (including a mountaintop finish) and a HC climb in between.

As suspected six riders begin the biggest climb (Passo dello Stelvio; 21.7 km at 7.1 %) of the day together. The peloton is 7’40 behind at the moment.

With 20 km to go the lead to the peloton is 6’35.
