We have another hilly stage today. With five cat. 4 climbs in the final 65 km it could be one for the break too.

We have five riders in the break today, nearly all of them are familiar faces: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eav.png Kirsch (15th in GC), KoM leader pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Verwilst (45 points), pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Barguil (16th in GC; 44 KoM points), pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Wellens (14th) and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Paulus (42 KoM points). Two of them have already won from a break in this Giro and we’re clearly in for a fierce fight for the KoM lead as well. But the first KoM sprint is still 108 km away.

The man in blue couldn’t make it back before the next climb. He won’t compete for the stage win as well, but his former companions are still 3’47 in front of the peloton with 39 km to go.
