Stage 2 Report

Stage 2 of the Tour of Guadeloupe takes the riders 157k into Goyave. A Cat 3 climb comes just 4k into the stage, there is a Cat 4 later plus two sprints.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Bol didn’t deliver yesterday, he is the favorite again today.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/favs.jpg

Yesterday’s combatants, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/taf.png Hansen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/esk.png Donaldson are away first. Donaldson gets the initial jump on his rival but Hansen tracks him down and passes him to take the 6 points at the KOM.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/01.jpg

Donaldson holds off pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Zubov for third. Yesterday’s other escapee, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/t3a.png Richardson, is also on the move.

Those four get together and are the break of the day, they have 3’50 with 133k to ride.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/02.jpg

Hansen just continues his winning streak at the first sprint point. Donaldson and Richardson take the rest of the points.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/03.jpg

At the second KOM, a Cat 4, he again just gets the edge, the Brit must be getting frustrated. Richardson third again. Hansen now leads the KOM over Donaldson, 21 to 11. 3’08 to the peloton with 94k to go.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/04.jpg

Hansen continues his streak at the 2nd sprint. He now has 12 bonus seconds, that puts him in a good position both in the young rider and GC if he can hang on in the remaining stages. Zubov and Richardson 2nd and 3rd this time. Lead at 2’18.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/05.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png English, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Aebersold, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Vainionpää are on the front as the catch is made with 29k to go.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/06.jpg

7k, trains for Euskadi, Ethiopian, Kone and Kraftwerk. Kone a little disorganized with only pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Kallberg in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Mannien. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Vanio off to the right. The fact Kiskonen is the GC leader might be messing with their organization.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/07.jpg

3.5k to go, an acceleration by Ethiopian and Kraftwerk has caught Euskadi out, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Darder not able to keep up, but they have time to recover. The Ethiopian train is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Chavanne, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Eislers and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Perera. For Kraftwerk it is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Teutenberg, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Harrison and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Bol. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tzk.png Walscheid, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/iec.png Ahlstrand, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Gibbons, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ofg.png Hayakawa, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/t3a.png Major, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/taf.png Liepins are the other sprinters up on these two trains. Hayakawa has pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ofg.png Paulus ahead of him. Mannien and Kiskonen were both caught behind the Euskadi train.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/08.jpg

Under the 1k banner, which is at more like 1.5k Chavanne just pulling off with Eislers still ahead of Perera. Teutenberg has pulled off the Kraftwerk train. An acceleration from pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Marin has given pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Carsi a shot on the inside. Mannien and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gla.png Plowright have fought their way into the picture.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/09.jpg

800 meters, Perera just launching. Gibbons next to him. Harrison and Walschied next.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/10.jpg

300 meters, Perera has his nose in front of Gibbons and Eislers, the latter fading fast now his lead out duties are done. Harrison coming on the far right. Bol on the far left.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/11.jpg

A textbook leadout for Ethiopian and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Perera wins stage 2.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/12.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Gibbons takes 2nd, a better day for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Bol as he gets the last spot on the podium. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tzk.png Walscheid is 4th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/13.jpg

6 riders across the road fighting for 5th. The order is: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Harrison, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Manninen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Carsi, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/t3a.png Major, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/iec.png Ahlstrand, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gla.png Plowright.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S2/14.jpg

Perera leads the GC by 16 seconds over Walscheid and the points by 15 over the same rider. Gibbons tied with Walscheid in that competition. Hansen hangs on again and leads the young riders competition over Donaldson and Plowright.
