Another day for the sprinters. We'll see if Peak can go 2/2 here. Only one cat. 4 KOM today for the breakaway and another straight finish at the end.
Batmunkh wastes no time attacking. The KOM leader wants to add more points to his tally. Marryatt is trying to join him in the breakaway.
The peloton chases hard, but once they catch up to Al Mutaiwei they sit up. I guess max two riders in the breakaway again.
Easy work for Batmunkh to get up to 15 KOM points now. Marryatt joins him on the descent.
Batmunkh is also the better sprinter and he easily adds max points here as well. Today the sprinters are interested in the last remaining points and it's Van Poppel that wins that sprint.
The peloton chases harder and faster today and the two escapees are caught with still 45 km to go. The last intermediate sprint is therefore available to everyone.
It's a messy sprint without proper leadouts, but Rajovic takes advantage of that ahead of Boudat and Thijssen.
Only 8 km to go. Before the finishing straight the riders have been navigating a short lap and the twists and turns have made it harder for leadout trains. Specialized are at the front with two riders ahead of Van Poppel, but it feels too early at this point.
5 km left and everyone looks mostly ready. Bolt need to get Dekker ahead of Peak and Liu needs to work his way to his leadout's wheel, but that's about it.
With 1.5 km to go Van Aert opens it up for Abdul Halil. Dekker gets to the front, but the Bolt train is not as coordinated today. Eiking is still leading Enger, but the hometown favourite will need to find another wheel soon. Van Poppel has Milan ahead of him on the far side.
Oliveira is still seemingly doing a good job leading out Liu. Peak is panicking and going for it. Abdul Halil and Van Poppel have switched their positions, both behind the other team's leadout.
This looks like a fantastic job done by Oliveira as Liu hits the wind with only 500 m left to go. Peak is showing his strength and is still in this. Enger is also in contention.
We are at the final stretch and the surprise name leading the field is Olei?! Enger, Liu and Riabushenko are the next three.
But in the end it's Liu who makes sure the great work done by Oliveira is not in vain. He wins it in a close one. Enger is 2nd best again. Riabushenko is 3rd today after the hairdryer treatment he got from his manager yesterday. Olei is still a surprise with a 4th place finish.
While Jiankun Liu is the stage winner the other winner today is Enger who takes the lead in both GC and points. Batmunkh and Vernon remain the leaders in KOM and U25.
