The sprinter days are done and with stage 5 the GC fight should finally begin. The stage itself probably won’t be overly selective though.

4 riders are out front today and it’s a really interesting combination for the KoM fight as none of them is a good climber really. Next is the second (and last) cat. 1 climb of the day. The order at the top is the same as in the last KoM sprint, now also mirroring the overall order in the classification with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Frankovic (34) in the lead and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lph.png Ruiz (32) and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eav.png Spengler (24) his closest chasers. The peloton is 2’20 behind, but it’s also still 110 km to the finish.

The next KoM sprint is another cat. 3 one and this time pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Sarreau (24) wins it with a late charge. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lph.png Ruiz beats pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Frankovic for 2nd place, so both are on 36 now. The last KoM sprint will decide who of them will take the jersey today.

The peloton is only 1’30 behind and it’s still 66 km to go, so the day should be done more or less for our four breakaway riders.

It’s been calm until a bump right before the final climb.
