Hi just about to start my season with Astana and i was just wondering what would be the best race programme to set Cavendish to. Ive noticed many of the big races now only have a few flat stages so would it be wise just to skip these?

Astana and Cavendish huh?

You can allways go for the Green jersey in the Tour with him.

first of all: which races do you want to dominate with him? the tour, the giro?

therefore you should set up a programme. start with the australia or qatar tour, then continue to do some easy races in februar, maybe california.
then tirreno - adr, then some easy one day races. same thing in april.
then in giro you play with him for like ten-thirteen stages, then you do the dauphine or tour de suisse. then he should be ready. He should have around 77-80 in fitness when he starts the dauphine.
Something like that would I have done
