Stage 4 Report

Stage 4 is the final sprint stage of the race. 143k including 3 sprint points and 3 Cat 4 climbs.

Simba got a 1-2 yesterday and they have two names on the favorites list.

Three riders get away from the Glanbia led peloton pretty quickly. They are pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/anz.png Brown, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/p4e.png Petrov, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/dvt.png Figueiredo. Right now Brown has a few seconds over the other two and they all have about 2 minutes on the peloton. With none of them having KOM points and only 15 available the best they can do is finish third in that competition.

Brown wins the KOM ahead of Petrov. Glanbia keeping things tight so far, the lead is just 2’25 with 100k to go.

Petrov takes the first sprint point. It is pouring with rain so not clear why everyone has abandoned their umbrellas.

Brown also wins the second KOM, ahead of Petrov. Lead is at its max right now, 3’23 with 78k to go.

Kennett keeps the jersey on the same time as Adomaitis. But tomorrow things will swing back to the TT riders, who will be pleased to see the sprint bonuses split between many riders.
