The 2024 World Championships will be held at Inverness, Scotland (GB). The route is as shown below
While the TT route has not yet been unveiled, it can be confirmed that it will be a long, mostly flat route (with possibly some bumps), along the lines of the Road Race profile. The exact profile will be revealed later.
Thanks to many managers who have contributed to the following text in the past years.
You can now use this thread to nominate a rider for the TTT, ITT, B Road Race and Elite Road Race. Riders do not need to be nominated for the U23 race, and if they are picked for an Elite race they cannot ride the U23 race. This means that managers with U23 riders need to decide now whether they want to nominate U23 riders to make them eligible to race in the elite category or not. You can only nominate riders from your own team, or riders you own who are loaned out this season. Nations may potentially change races if they have a weaker selection than expected, so nomination is key!
You can also volunteer to be a Selector for a nation. In this case you will be able to vote to select the squad that will ride the races. Please note that the selection process has changed from last season. Please read on to know more.
Please check that a nation will participate in a race before nominating a rider from that country. Nominations will be taken for the reserve nations - but of course they may not necessarily participate. Remember that if a nation's top riders aren't chosen they will move down.
Teams
Spoiler | S. No. | Elite RR | B RR | ITT | TTT | | 1 | France | Luxembourg | Great Britain | Great Britain | | 2 | Belgium | Sweden | Denmark | Denmark | | 3 | Netherlands | New Zealand | Ireland | Ireland | | 4 | Germany | Japan | Ukraine | Ukraine | | 5 | Italy | Ukraine | United States of America | United States of America | | 6 | Australia | Austria | Colombia | Colombia | | 7 | Colombia | South Africa | Italy | Italy | | 8 | Great Britain | Latvia | Thailand | Thailand | | 9 | United States of America | Rwanda | Netherlands | Netherlands | | 10 | Denmark | Hong Kong | Lithuania | Lithuania | | 11 | Norway | Sri Lanka | Australia | Australia | | 12 | Slovenia | China | Germany | Germany | | 13 | Russia | Canada | Spain | Spain | | 14 | Poland | Brazil | Canada | Canada | | 15 | Spain | Thailand | France | France | | 16 | Switzerland | Serbia | Belgium | Belgium | | 17 | Portugal | Indonesia | Russia | Russia | | 18 | Kazakhstan | Argentina | Poland | Poland | | 19 | Eritrea | Malaysia | Norway | Norway | | 20 | Greece | Slovakia | Israel | Greece | | 21 | Czech Republic | Lithuania | Greece | South Africa | | 22 | Hungary | Venezuela | South Africa | Switzerland | | 23 | Ireland | Philippines | Chile | Czech Republic | | 24 | | Ecuador | Switzerland | Hong Kong | | Res 1 | | Mexico | Czech Republic | Japan | | Res 2 | | Bosnia and Herzegovina | Portugal | Portugal | | Res 3 | | Finland | Luxembourg | Luxembourg | | Res 4 | | Romania | Georgia | Hungary |
Number of riders per nation in the Road Races and TTTs will be teams of 8, while ITTs are teams of 2.
The above lists might change depending if not enough riders are selected for a particular nation in the list.
-------
The following guidance is taken from previous year's threads.
The first step towards creating the team is the nomination process. Each team may nominate as many or as few of their own riders to ride in the world championships. The selectors then choose from the available riders to create the road race, time trial and team time trial squads. So every rider nominated in this thread will be made available for all three squads – this thread is for nominations for the road race, time trial and team time trial squads. The only exception is if a nation is participating in one event but not in others (for example it is in the TT and not the RR), in which case the riders nominated will obviously only be available for whatever their nation qualifies for. When nominating your riders please give their full name, as it makes it much easier for me to keep track.
With loaned riders, both the team which is loaning them and also the team that they are being loaned to may nominate them. Remember that only nominated riders may be chosen by the selectors, meaning that the worlds will only be contested by riders from active teams who nominate them. The only exception is in the team time trial where, if there are not enough nominated riders from teams, the teams will be filled from riders without a contract. Teams who do not have enough riders nominated may be downgraded a level.
Further, any teams whose most suitable riders aren't nominated may be withdrawn and replaced by one of the reserve teams. This means that if the only big star of a small country is not nominated that country will lose its position to the next reserve team in line. ( Thus nominating riders for the reserve teams is important.)
You can also volunteer to become a selector for any of the countries in the WC. If you want this please say so in your post or you will miss out. Please note that the selection process has changed for a couple of seasons and is described below.
- To do this, you must have a rider in your team from that country, even if you are not nominating them.
- Once the nominations are in, the selectors for each and every country will have to send in a ranked list of riders of their country for each discipline - RR, ITT, TTT. Selections are not required for U23 races. ( There will be no PMs sent by me or anyone else, which was done till 2020). The list of eligible riders will be put up before the selectors need to start their work.
- In case of ties, a rider's suitability to the particular race will be take precedence followed by OVL. There will be only one ranking round for the selectors.
- The more selectors a country has, the better. This is a great way to influence the game and a very fun part of the process, even if none of your riders are directly affected.
If you are confused about any of this, post your question below and myself or one of the other experienced people will answer your question. If you haven’t done this before then it is also a good idea to check out last year`s thread for an example of what you have to do to nominate riders and become a selector: https://pcmdaily....rowstart=0
Under 23 Startlists
Riders not selected for the Elite Road Race and aged 23 or under will be available for the U23 Road Race. Likewise riders not selected for the Elite Time Trial will be available for the U23 Time Trial. The startlists for these races will be compiled by the reporters from the available riders. Note that these do not have to be nominated at any point – all eligible riders will be available for selection.
Deadline for Nominations: 26th May, 8 AM, Daily Time.

SEE Turtles Nominations:
| 5161 | Tivani | German Nicolas | ARG | | 1145 | Cardona | Julian | COL | | 913 | Merchan | Didier | COL | | 5897 | Huera | Richard | ECU | | 6095 | Obando | Bryan Raul | ECU | | 468 | Revelo | Franklin Joel | ECU | | 972 | Lopez | Harold Martin | ECU | | 3080 | Oka | Atsushi | JPN | | 1060 | Frame | Alex | NZL | | 178 | Fisher-Black | Finn | NZL | | 8175 | Siriwardena | Kashyapa | SRI | | 175 | Vermaerke | Kevin | USA | | 834 | Sheffield | Magnus | USA |
Better to get started with riders on these teams than for their nations to get left out, but am guessing Cardona is really the only one worth contributing on a team in ITT/TTT - maybe some others can be domestiques
Willing to be a selector for: ARG, COL, ECU, JPN, NZL, SRI, and USA
If a specific country needs more selectors - I am willing to be asked to help their too.

Please do not nominate a rider if you don't wish them to ride in the senior races. Rules are quite clear on this.

Points don't have any impact on ITT participants? Really hurts to see Switzerland miss out there, in particular don't see any reason why they should be ranked behind South Africa or Chile.
Anyway, here are my nominations:

ITT countries have always been selected according to strength of the country's best time-trial rider.

OK. So it's basically randomness that made Switzerland end up behind South Africa and Chile? With South Africa, it's close indeed, the latter having a Top 5 of 78-78-77-75-74 and Switzerland 78-78-77-75-75 (so starting with the 5th rider they're better), but with Chile it's even the 2nd rider already who's stronger (78-78 vs. Chile's 78-76).
Not that it matters a lot, neither country will win an ITT medal, but I'd still like to understand how the ordering is done. In the current case, it's the decision between the 24th spot and reserve, so just unlucky for all other 78er countries.
