Purpose of a Sheet - STA_race_list
rjc_43
I'm currently in the process of building a DB for myself, with the view to release when it's perfect. And, before I've even started I've come across a hiccup.

Most tables in the DBs are easy to see the purpose of, however, if someone could kindly tell me what the point of the sheet STA_race_list is for, then I'd be very happy!

STA_race_list dictates which teams that participate in what races. It's a very, very important table in PCM08.

You can't control the team participation 100 %. It's more like what kind of teams that get to participate, e.g. French teams from the bottom of the Continental ranking participate in <insert small French race here>.

My suggestion is that you open up your DB with CLE-ditor. Go to Races and find "Career Invitations". This edits the STA_race_list. Even if you don't like using easy editors like that, it's worth taking a look since it gives you an idea of how the table works.

Ok, say I'm stubborn (I'm not if thats the only way) but how/where do you tell the teams which "list" to follow?

You can't. That's what I tried to say -- we can't dictate it 100 %.

You decide what kind of teams that participate in races.
E.g. I can decide that I want Pro Tour American and German teams to participate in Tour of California along with American Top Continental and Middle Continental teams -- but I can't decide that I want specifically Columbia and Garmin to participate along with BMC. I can only hope that they will Wink

Ahhhh! That's pretty neat Grin

EDIT: And thanks for the speedy and efficient answer!

I have a question concerning the invitation: I've create a 2009DB with the Cleditor, I've choosed the invitation but, BUT, during the season I have a lot of race in which there are team with 2 - 3 riders even if the limite is 6, why?

Is there a solution for this problem? Is there a particular converter for this ?

Thanks in advance

The problem I guess would be that the teams are oversubscribed to races at that time, and thats the most they can field. Check the team and the location of all their riders. No real solution other than editing teams invitations (if thats possible - I don't know)
