Before the two final GC stages, in especially tomorrow with the long climb and then the final ITT, today is a day to recover from the hills and a stage opportunity for the sprinters.
Can Rodenberg make it 2/2, are Zingle and Koumpetsos again up there or will someone else show up. Welten as 8th or Haller/Adoamaitis were not even top10 but ranked high in the bookie list.
5 riders in the group for some TV time or the "unrealistic" chance to beat the sprinter teams on a stage like today with almost no difficulty at all. Ayuso Mugisha Nyoni Oram Rojas
And while it took quite a bit longer than some teams may have hoped, the break indeed is caught again.
We are in the final part already though. Just 3.8 km left on the stage and the sprint trains are working well behind.
Let`s see if the late catch will make it a bit more chaotic.
On the right the caught group, then 2 trains with most sprinters in the long lines behind.
Wohler
Gough
Vosekalns
Boudat
Jiang
Kalaba
Lagane
Zingle
Koumpetsos
Haller
Habtom
Welten
Mareczko
Willems
Dzamastagic
Keough
Pedersen
Adomaitis
Rodenberg
The JEWA TIROL train working well here. 900 m to go and Gough still ahead of Boudat and still ahead of the remaining sprinters.
Also Minions are doing well here with Jiang still pacing Kalaba. All the sprinters are hanging behind them.
300 m and Boudat only now has to leave the slipstream. Perfect leadout and still having 3 bike lengths to Kalaba and co.
Dominant win. There was never any question about the winner in that sprint. Bodat celebrates the perfect win after a brilliant team performance.
Behind a lot closer for the rest of the top10.
Photo finish of no less than 5 riders.
In the end Kalaba completes another good leadout coming over the line in 2nd ahead ofHabtom. Then Marezco, Haller and Lagane despite being closer to 2nd, not even making the top5 as 6th.
With a bit more of a gap Keough and Koumpetsos lead in the next sprinters.
Welten, Adomaitis, Zingle and even more Rodenberg all without a top sprint missing the top10.
GC wise no changes as all riders were s.t. today. Tomorrow a lot of decisions will happen while the ITT is then still there for the remaining decisions.
