Is today's break and two really standout as Christapopoulos 18th GC +9 seconds and White 58th GC +18 (9th U25 +12)
These two fight out the KOM but as would be a running theme Christapopoulos would just pip White with Dressler in 3rd.
White takes sprint number 1 though and is only 12" behind now only 2 seconds gained for Christapopoulos but he's down to 7 seconds off the GC lead with 2 more sprints to go today he's still in with a shout of a GC lead.
Christapopoulos takes sprint number 2 in the KOM position in the same order as the first sprint
In the peloton it's , doing most of the work on the front Swift is around the front of the group but doesn't put in much work is Andersen seems happy to leave his GC lead up to the fate of the intermediate sprints.
And strike lucky at the next sprint De Pooter takes it from White with Christapopoulos only 3rd only a win in the final sprint will see him into the GC lead. White needs 2nd for a tie in the U25 or 1st to lead by 2 seconds so no free seconds on offer here.
White does indeed take the final sprint he now leads the U25. Christapopoulos is 2nd that's good enough for 2nd on GC provisionally an agonising 1 second of the GC lead
Christapopoulos makes sure of the KOM lead on the final climb though taking a clean sweep of that competition as the pack closes in.
In behind 30 riders have been dropped today but one is Leung 2nd GC +2. He will lose over 3 mins today in what has been a slightly harder stage then anticipated.
Into the final descent after the climb and only 7km to go its Geoghegan Hart surprisingly going full gas on the front he has the group well stretched out and the downhill run to the finish is making it difficult to make up places. have the perfect position behind the the leaders for Bol.
DISASTER FOR as the leadout man swings off to the left the 3rd rider follows him instead of taking the pace this causes a huge slow down from their train while on the right Fedorov has launched the Cedevita train causing a ripple effect of that side of the road now being way up the road. Hesters and Santos where well aware to the danger and are following while talent Hopkins shows experience above his age and has got himself very well placed.
Rajovic launches and his acceleration instantly puts himself and Hesters clear its a fight between them two for the win Hopkins still holding 3rd currently
Rajovic takes the win! a superb leadout from the team using all their resources Hesters with a clever 2nd place
Ganjkhanlou is 3rd with Alaphilippe from an absolutely flying Cerny. Hopkins faded late to only take 9th one place ahead of a fuming Bol who barged his way through his broken leadout to make the top 10.
Andersen cruises over the line 16th not really involving himself in the sprint but holding the GC lead by one second over the breakaway hero Christapopoulos
while White take the U25 lead and 4th on GC
