Rekita starts the day in the hot seat after going out early its only good enough for 11th by the end of the day but still a solid ride
Van Aert the prologue specialist rides as expected he picks up 7th on the stage after being in the hot seat for most of the day
a new leader Tanfield has a very strong day he will end 6th only 6" down on the winner
Vernon slightly disappointing following his countryman he ends the day only in 16th place.
Sajnok thunders on the pedals but can't beat the leading time he ends the day in 9th
Kukrle also can't beat the leader he's only 10th on the day as a solid but unspectacular ride from the Czech champion
Christodoulos is a great prologue rider he takes the hot seat for now! with a super ride by the Cypriot not at the very best level, he still managed 5th place finish today.
Leknessund was super solid today finishing 8" down he might not be expecting to stay with the best in the mountains but he gains a couple of seconds to start his GC charge.
Geoghegan Hart has a very solid prologue and finishes 11" down just in the top 25
McNulty not as good at the shorter prologues but only loses 13" which is 3 seconds behind the best TT rider.
Oomen tops the GC riders today finishing in the top 20 at 10" back
Bernal isn't as proficient on these shorter TTs as he is on the long TT courses and is 1 second behind Oomen time at 11" back
Kudus loses only 17 seconds and only 7 seconds on Oomen and Bernal a really positive outcome for the Eriterian.
Extremely strong from Matsuda today as he grabs the hot seat! it's 4th place on the stage behind the big 3 and gets the U25 jersey to boost he end only 6" down on the winner.
Throughout this Prologue though we knew the 3 favourites Andersen, Chavanne and Leung would decide the winner and by the end there was only 2 seconds to separate the 3. With a 4" gap to the 4th placed Matsuda but which of the 3 has managed to take the win!
